The Story
Born on the Côte d’Azur.
Madone took shape on the Côte d’Azur after more than twenty-two years spent working in premium cigars.
For founder Kevin Woolf, the region became part of the idea naturally: the contrast of sea and mountain, old stone and Mediterranean light, long terrace evenings and the change of perspective that comes with elevation.
Above the coast, the hills rise toward the Col de la Madone. The name carries something of that landscape with it — height, perspective and a sense of time moving at a different pace.
More than twenty-two years in the cigar industry brought the experience behind Madone: an understanding of construction, balance, consistency and the way a cigar develops through an hour.
Madone Classics brings those influences together in Robusto, Toro and Gordo.
Places.
The Côte d’Azur gave Madone much of its visual language: warm stone, dark wood, late light, the Mediterranean below and the hills rising behind it.
Perspective.
Elevation changes the view. Time changes the cigar. Madone draws something from both — distance, perspective and enough time to appreciate what is in front of you.
After more than twenty-two years in cigars, I wanted to create something I would genuinely choose to smoke — a cigar I would be proud to put on the table and share with good company.
